E.G. Solutions has been the leading manufacturer of screw traps for more than 30 years. The company was founded in 1989 by two Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fish biologists who invented screw traps to aid their research on salmonid smolts. Over the years, use of screw traps has expanded to safely capture many species of fish in small to large streams around the world.
A screw trap is self-powered, cleans itself of debris, captures fast swimming fish in a wide range of water velocities, and is easy to operate and maintain. Screw traps disassemble in easily manageable pieces for transportation.
Water and fish enter the upstream end of the trapping cone. Water striking the angled surface of the internal screw rotates the perforated cone and screw assembly. As the cone rotates, fish are trapped within the chambers formed by the screw and moved rearward into the live box.
